About PeptideAtlas

PeptideAtlas is an independent reference for peptide research. It exists because the two things a reader usually wants — what the evidence for a compound actually shows, and whether a given seller's product is what it claims to be — are both hard to establish and are usually answered by people with something to sell.

The site carries evidence-rated profiles for 237 compounds, 1461 vendor listings, 1386 independent third-party lab assays, 95 manufacturer records and 155 defined terms.

Two editorial rules do most of the work. The first: state the strength of the evidence, not just the claim. Every compound profile carries an A-F grade describing how good the human data is, and most compounds discussed in peptide communities sit at D or F. Saying so is the point of the grade.

The second: prefer records to opinions. Vendor assessments are built from third-party assay certificates, FDA warning-letter history, storefront verification and the vendor's own published terms, each attributed to where it came from. Where we have no data on something, the page says that rather than filling the space.

PeptideAtlas is funded in part by affiliate commission on some outbound vendor links. That is disclosed on every page carrying such a link, and it does not affect evidence grades, vendor assessments or how assay results are reported — the assay data in particular is published exactly as the lab reported it, including where it contradicts a vendor we link to.
